Black Friday Zoo Trip
On the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, we decided to avoid all of the wild animals at the store so we went to the L.A. Zoo for the day. Lucía is able to recognize a lot of animals from her books or when she sees them on television, so we figured it was about time we took her to a bigger zoo than the ones around here. We went with Kira's parents and our nephew, Aidan and enjoyed the 80 degree weather in late November. Say what you will about California, but the weather is definitely a big plus here. There are a lot of pictures in this post so if anybody's still using dial up, this is going to take a while to load up.

Every other time we've taken Lucía to a petting zoo she wanted to run away. This time, for some reason, she had no fear. It was fun watching her chase after the sheep and try to give them a big hug. The sheep here is running after she snuck up from behind and gave it a bear hug.

A goat at the petting zoo.

Getting a closer look while she brushes the goat. It was fun watching her brush the goat. She kept saying "I'm cleaning the goat." Then she smile and told it, "All clean!"

As the daughter of a health inspector, she knows she has to wash her hands after touching animals.
